Signs

The last few days have been so sunny and warm that I can't believe it could get wintry again before spring proper. However, after 6 winters here in Puglia, I have to remind myself that it could.

It has been extremely pleasant spending time in the sun, especially in my immobile state of late pregnancy. I'm 38 weeks tomorrow so it really could be any day now. When I feel the baby moving around inside of me he feels so large although I know that when he will appear tiny when he's born.

What a lovely time of year to come into the world, just as spring breaks. I'm imagining lots of country walks with baby in the sling and Mickey running through the fields beside us. I'm also looking forward to being able to walk 100m without destroying myself!

I can't wait to see and hold baby, although part of me is cherishing these last moments of just the three of us. Right now Darren is pruning the vines and Mickey is having his regular afternoon nap and I have some last precious me-time. I can imagine that is going to be a thing of the past for a while.

There are so many unknowns in the near future, so exciting...
